Audio Recordings Ministry
CD recordings of Dr. Charles Murphy’s sermons are made and distributed to those who’d like to have a copy or those who cannot be in services. Talk to Bro. Loyd Rutledge if you’d like to help with this outreach tool.
Building and Grounds
The Heritage Baptist Church Building and Grounds Committee takes care of such things as maintenance, repairs and building security, as well as preparing plans for future construction.
Men’s Ministry
The Heritage Men’s Ministry meets at 8 a.m. on the first Sunday of every month. This ministry is geared toward getting the men of the church to fully realize their responsibility as leaders. The men also lend their talents to the church and the members who are in need of help. It’s a great way for the men of the church to build relationships with other Christian men.
Flowers Ministry
The Heritage Flower Ministry breaks down the flower arrangements from the offering table and delivers them to people who are in the hospital, are sick at home or are just in need of a symbol of love from their church.
Prayer Ministry
Communication with God is vital in a relationship with Him, and Heritage Baptist Church understands this. Our Ladies Prayer Ministry takes up prayer request cards during services and sends out weekly e-mails stating those requests to the members of the ministry. In addition, deacons and other church members take the specific prayer requests taken during services and pray for those and the service itself while Dr. Charles Murphy delivers the sermon.
Music Ministry
Vocal Music
The Heritage Baptist Church Choir is much more than just a group of people who sing together. The choir sings specials throughout the year and puts on presentations at Christmas and Easter. The choir is also a unique opportunity to bond with fellow church members as they praise the Lord with the voices He has blessed them with.
Instrumental Music
Heritage Baptist Church’s Music Ministry is constantly on the watch for musicians. Heritage’s orchestra plays along with the congregational songs and with special music. Guitar, piano, brass, winds – if you play it, let Music Minister Dennis Bell know and he’ll be happy to put you to work as this ministry seeks to honor God.
Communications
As part of our growing process, Heritage is always looking for fresh ideas when it comes to reaching the community. In a time when people are bombarded by all types of media, this committee strives to let those people know they have “A Place to Call Home” in Heritage. With talented members from the fields of photography, journalism, publishing and graphic design, this committee is dedicated to reaching.
Decorating
This committee is in charge of ensuring the appearance of the church building is kept up. From interior painting to bulletin boards, the Decorating Committee is focused on keeping the inside of God’s house looking great.
Christian Citizenship
Church members are expected to be active in their community, and that includes civic duties. The Christian Citizenship Committee encourages Heritage’s members to vote in elections and publishes works that help members make responsible decisions in regard to citizenship and government.
Christian Education
Proper growth in a Christian's walk with God is impossible without education about Him, His sacrifice, His Word and His love for us. Heritage Baptist Church takes this subject seriously and the Christian Education Committee approves all Bible Study curriculum and is in charge of approving new Bible Study teachers.
